概要 The critical issue of food supply in arid regions, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, where stable crop cultivation is hindered by drought and high temperatures, often leading to dependence on food imports. In order to address this challenge, the text emphasizes the importance of developing cultivation plans based on crop yield forecasts, with rainfall data being a crucial factor for accurate predictions. However, the inadequate infrastructure for recording rainfall in Sub-Saharan Africa makes it challenging to obtain precise rainfall measurements. On the other hand, Internet access and smartphones have become widespread in Sub-Saharan Africa in recent years. Therefore, individuals can record rainfall using mobile applications, and these data can be collected and analyzed via the Internet, making it possible to predict crop yields in the region. This allows farmers to make appropriate cultivation plans based on the data presented. They were considering an application that collects data on rainfall measured by farmer-owned rain gauges and crops to be cultivated on the cloud and presents the appropriate amount and timing of seeding and fertilization to farmers based on crop yield predictions obtained by analyzing the collected data. In this paper, we design and implement the crop cultivation support application for farmers based on crop yield prediction in drylands, verify its operation, and discuss its usefulness.
